“It was my first 'digital' head credit sequence, until then everything had been
traditional animation camera work” says John Furniotis. “It was a very exciting and rewarding experience.”

In the cinema, this title sequence truly catches your breath. The titles moving slowly towards you, the light effects that seem to refer to the headlights of approaching cars and the almost eerie guitar sounds work really well in the darkened space. The titles for Crash are 3-D objects rendered with a shiny, chrome surface. They’re not perfectly shaped, but dented. Just like the chrome bumpers and the coachwork of cars in Crash.
